From the super fine thread like yarns in our velvet carpets to the large cable yarns used in our textures, loops, and shags all Catalina yarns systems are twisted and heat set to perform. At Catalina we produce a number of products which use yarns systems that are exclusive to us. In order to produce high styled, unique carpet products you must use yarns systems not available to other carpet mills. It requires countless hours and high-tech machinery in order to develop every yarn system used to produce Catalina products. Catalina will continue to use yarn innovation as a basis in developing new carpet products.

All Catalina carpet products are beck dyed. Beck dyeing offers the best results possible and ensures consistent coloration throughout. Beck dyeing is the most effective way to eliminate the possibility of sidematch problems when carpet is seamed together. In addition, beck dyeing makes finished carpet feel fuller and softer. It can take up to 6 hours to beck dye a single piece of carpet and for this reason it is not as cost effective as the alternatives. Since it is undoubtably the best way to dye carpet Catalina considers no alternative

All Catalina products are finished using the highest quality latex and high pick backing. This latex ensures maximum tuft bind and increased durability and performance. The high pick backing helps the installer to create the tightest seam possible.

In order to achieve the super clean velvet finish on each yard of Catalina product it must be sheared up to 8 times. Our carpets are run through a precision multi headed shearing machine that trims each tuft with microscopic accuracy so that the surface of our carpet is as smooth as possible from side to side. Compare the surface of our product to the competition and the difference is obvious.
